Meanwhile, Cast is taken in by the resistance, hidden in underground tunnels, and hailed a savior. The miners are tired of enduring the cruelty of the kingdom and suffering from effects of the crystal dust. A former resistance member, now a traitor, returns, admitting he sold Cast and Ms. Clock out for the reward, but he still wants to help his people. However, he rushes off to save his son, who was captured by a knight in the mines, and Cast follows, vowing to help all people.
