Bobbie Ruth Lavender graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Education in 1959 and a Master of Education in 1964. She held offices in her sorority, Alpha Omicron Pi, and served in several on-campus organizations. After teaching school in Roanoke, Virginia and surrounding areas for 30 years, Mrs. Lavender presently substitutes in Roanoke County and Roanoke City public schools. Some of her hobbies consist of baking, sewing, bowling and playing bridge. She also loves spending time and engaging in activities with her two granddaughters and 3 dogs.
