The book is a multi-informational text created specifically for the guitarist. The intention is to improve a guitarist's communication and knowledge of his instrument. The text is a dictionary of terms and an informational reference. Many aspects of playing the guitar are explained in the simplest terms. Chord formulas, intervals, open tunings, scales and modes, tips and tricks, string gauges, instrument ranges, and more are included. This book contains nearly two thousand guitar-related terms with their definitions, many of which are not found in a standard dictionary. Included is a dictionary of classical music terms, stringed instruments of the world, abbreviations, and music symbols. There is even a place to store your serial numbers of your personal gear.

Author Biography

This book was written by a veteran guitarist of more than 50 years. David Gonzales grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and began playing guitar at the age of 5. He has performed in bands since the 4th grade. He is a BMI songwriter, taught guitar for Dean Markley Music, Dave has done guitar repair work, he has years of recording experience, toured internationally, and familiar with many styles of music. He has worked with Gregg Allman & Friends (blues/rock), Bobby Bare, Charlie McCoy (country), Inner Circle (reggae), Nick Gravenites, Charles Musselwhite (blues), and many more. "The Guitarist's Dictionary & Reference" is the result of more than 20 years of work.
