Tachi uchi no kata: A Guide to the Kenjutsu of the Muso Jikiden Hasegawa Eishin-ryu - Paperback
Description
by Otsu (Author)
Tachi uchi no kata is an essential part to any kenjutsu practitioners library, and is a partner book to Tachi uchi no kurai.
Tachi uchi no kata is the first set of paired sword kata (kumi tachi) devised and introduced by Oe Masaji Sensei, and form part of the Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu syllabus. Considered to be the prelude to Tachi uchi no kurai (the original set of 10 kata, reputed to have been introduced by Hasegawa Chikaranosuke Hidenobu), it shares some of the same movements but at a more advanced level.
Tachi uchi no kata, whilst not advanced in nature, is still kenjutsu and needs to be approached with care and regard for fellow students.
All these forms require, ideally, a certain level of sword control and a basic understanding of seme, tame and zanshin.
This guide book is not a replacement for an experienced teacher.
