Sixtus Kargel, 1540 - 1593, was a German lutenist and composer. His first recorded publication, a lost print of 1569, appeared at Mainz, Germany. The ten pieces selected for this transcription come from his 1574 publication and include four Fantasias, three Pasamezos, and three Saltarellos which are delightful variations on each of the preceding Pasamezos.
