Improving the strength and other properties of Automobile components like Gears, Brake rotor discs, Pistons etc., are very much needed. Which are made up of Al-SiC particles Metal Matrix Composites (AMMCs) via centrifugal casting offers high wear resistance at outer periphery and good toughness at inner core by gradient distribution of SiC in Al-matrix. The rich concentration of SiC at outer region is prone to the corrosion phenomena in the components employed in corrosion environments. It is due to the chemical heterogeneity caused by SiC and the intensity of corrosion attack accelerates with increase of SiC particle concentration.
