Not surprising, since these songs were extremely popular on the island, as the early sound system pioneers imported soul, r&b and pop records from the US. In this book we try to trace the origins of many of those covers and their performers. Due to the overwhelming quantity of covers, we have restricted our selection to songs within the Black Music genre
