Manijeh Badiozamani grew up in Tehran, Iran before moving to the U.S. with her husband over 50 years ago. She is a keen observer of life and easily laughs at her own miscues as she deftly straddles two different cultures.

From worrying about a Mafia attack outside O'Hare Airport on their arrival to organizing an office Christmas party years later, the author covers subjects like food, odd American customs, supermarket shopping, kind and generous people, and even her own premature obituary as written by a former student.
