Author Biography

Marla Hardee Milling is a native of Asheville and a seventh generation Buncombe County resident. Her career includes 10 years as a news producer at WLOS-TV in Asheville, six years as director of communications at Mars Hill College (now University) and 35+ years as a freelance writer and author. She's written three nonfiction books on Asheville, has penned more than 1,000 published essays and articles, and is a long-time contributing editor for Blue Ridge Country magazine. She loves exploring the North Carolina backroads with her family.
