In 1921, she returned to Europe to help with the post-war reconstruction efforts. During her second tour of duty, she traveled through fifty-two countries and received eleven decorations plus citations. In 1926, Katherine Olmsted resigned from the nursing profession and enrolled at University Sorbonne, Paris to earn Le Cordon Bleu Cuisine Diploma.
