Melaan: To Save a Town - Paperback
Description
by Justin Reynolds (Author)
Melaan's golden age ended a hundred years ago when an increase in the frequency of eclipses caused a migration of aggressive goblin-kind. Governments collapsed, villages and farms were overrun or abandoned, infrastructure has long eroded.
Moonville is a small, isolated town with crumbling walls. Artemis, a lanky sixteen year old novice warrior welcomes the town matriarch's decision to include her in a last ditch adventure to foray to find another town to partner with in defense.
The party struggles with the shortcomings of an un-inclusive society, berserking monsters during all-too-common eclipses, and unfamiliar flora and fauna. Arty finds her real challenges are to uncover the source of betrayal from within the party, to understand strange, innate senses only she seems to have, and to discover herself as a warrior, and a leader. If she doesn't, the mission will fail and Moonville is doomed to goblin-kind, or worse.
Finding herself suddenly in a leadership role Arty is in a running fight for her and her party's lives, she must lead in a wide variety of unexpected situations. Add a dash of finding her long lost grandfather wizard, party members including a hunk of a cleric/healer and gruff quadruplets who wield war hammers and battle axes, and the inconvenient appearances of the mysterious Man in the Scarlet Sash, and you'll want to start the Melaan series right away!
