Marsh Poems - Paperback

by Paul S. Grimsley (Author)

For more than sixty years, Paul Stroud Grimsley has turned to poetry as a way of making sense of the world around him-and the people who have made his life meaningful.

In Marsh Poems - and Other Southern Verses, Grimsley gathers lines about love, family, friendship, faith, loss, and reflection. His poems are rooted in the places and experiences closest to him: the salt marshes and beaches of the Carolina coast, sailing and duck hunting, changing seasons, family homes and gardens, and the quiet pleasures of everyday life.

These are poems about the people who matter most. Spouses and children, parents and siblings, friends and grandchildren appear throughout the collection, remembered in moments of celebration, sorrow, reconciliation, and gratitude. Grimsley writes openly about love and separation, the passage of time, forgiveness, and the enduring bonds that connect us.

Faith is woven throughout as well. Whether contemplating Easter, the comfort of a familiar church, the beauty of a sunset, or the final voyage of life, Grimsley returns to his faith as a source of strength, perspective, and grace.

These poems preserve what matters: a friendship, a memory, a beloved landscape, a family, a moment of beauty. Together, they form an intimate record of a life lived with curiosity, affection, humility, and gratitude.

Marsh Poems is a celebration of connection-the people we love, the places we call home, and the memories we carry with us through life
