Loss Within Waves: Navigating Grief and Trauma Through Mindfulness, Art and Faith - Paperback

by Elizabeth Johnstone (Author)

Elizabeth Johnstone was five months pregnant when her baby, Little T, was diagnosed with a rare heart defect. After months of medical appointments and meticulous care, her worst fears came true: Little T's heart stopped beating and he died peacefully in utero at 36 weeks. She delivered days later, even as waves of grief crashed down on her.

In this poignant collection of journal entries and personal essays spanning more than seven years, Johnstone shares her struggle through one of life's most heart-wrenching experiences. It changed her, silenced her, caused her to question her faith. Loss Within Waves is an unfiltered exploration of a mother's heartache as she grapples with post-traumatic stress disorder and the complexity of grieving for a life that was never fully lived.

Written with courage, vulnerability, and unwavering honesty, this book is a tribute to the resilience of the human spirit. Johnstone's determination to honour her baby's memory and her dedication to finding meaning within the depths of sorrow serve as an inspiring testament to the enduring power of love. Prepare to be moved and forever changed by Johnstone's heartfelt story of love, loss, and the enduring connection that transcends life's most heartbreaking moments.
