Liminal - Hardcover

by Joseph Rastovich (Author)

"Poetry never clicked with me," the author admits.

But in the face of the ineffable-the "blood of emotion" and the "language of Nature"-it became the only vessel capable of holding the truth.

This collection is a record of an "Ecocentric Heart" seeking its reflection in the wild.

Moving from the "bustle" of civilization to the "deep, restorative silence" of the forest, the author navigates the tension between the industrial clock and the biological rhythm of the earth.

It is a journey into the "Third Space"-the liminal reality between past and future, the manifested and unmanifested-where the "collective unconscious" meets the raw immediacy of the present moment.

Through a blend of free verse, philosophical prose, and cinematic "snippets" of observed reality, the boundaries between the observer and the observed dissolve.

Whether digging for roots in the Columbia Gorge, meditating on the resilience of the Water Ouzel, or befriending the "shadow" and the "winter parts of self," these writings offer a "portrait of a paradox".

This is an invitation to slow down, strip away the masks of the ego, and remember that we are all "raindrops of separation" destined to return to the same ocean.

For those seeking the "wisdom that lives in wilderness" and the perspective of the "Moon and a million years," this book serves as a reminder to touch the earth, breathe the air, and truly be.
