Mrs Amu was born in Benin City to Pa Jacob Edugie Ighile a prominent local leader in Orhionmwon local government, a county in Edo State, Nigeria. She is married to Julius Amu. She is a mother and a grandmother. . In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing and learning languages.
