He fished in Pinas Bay, Panama, at the Tropic Star Lodge and became friends with Bobby Brown, one of the top captains in the world. He fished in the Bay Point tournament for four years and won $120,000. In the Firecracker Open in Hawaii he won $48,000 in the Calcuttas. In 2017 for his 70th birthday, he went out of Murrells Inlet, North Carolina, and had a great day catching dolphin. He wrote this memoir to share his exciting experiences with other anglers and mates, urging them to never give up when fishing.
