Helter Shelter: A Lunatic Searching for Asylum - Paperback
Helter Shelter: A Lunatic Searching for Asylum - Paperback
Description
by Niki Smart (Author)
After working 12 years at a Crisis Intervention Shelter for emotionally disturbed teenagers, Smart is suddenly thrown into deep crisis mode herself. What follows is her journey of healing juxtaposed against the teenagers that pass through the shelter with their own heartbreaking, bizarre, hilarious, touching, crazy-making life stories. With humor, Smart shows us how she learns as much from the young shelter residents (if not more) than they do from her. This is a memoir of thorough self-examination albeit executed in a somewhat unorthodox manner--Enjoy!
