Edith the Earthworm is a children's book for children ages 2-8. It explores themes of identifying fruits/veggies/flowers, environmental/ecological connections, friendship, adventure, and independence. The book uses occasional rhythm and cadence, making it a lovely read-a-loud. It's a typical spring morning, and young Edith wakes up with the zest of life she has so often. She longs for adventure and plans a trip for her and her brother, Eddie. They will spend the day traveling through the farmer's field to get to their spider friend's web. That is-- if their mamma lets them go! Their travels tour the underworld of a garden. This book includes lesson ideas and an educator's note. It's been colorfully, uniquely illustrated. The tale teaches through words and images.
