Country Vet: More Tall Tails - Paperback

by Randy L. Skaggs (Author)

"Vets have a kind of double vision on the human experience. They see us as the clients who bring in the patients and pay the bill, but they also see our sins, flaws, and weirdness reflected in our animals. Dr. Skaggs recognized early on that this was a rich source of humor-not ridicule, not humor that cuts, but the kind of organic humor that allows us to laugh at ourselves." -John R. Erickson, author of Hank the Cowdog series

The small-town veterinary clinic is abuzz again! As if the beat-down by the angry monkey wasn't enough in the first book, Dr. Skaggs narrowly escapes death when El Diablo, the 2200-pound bull, uses him as a speed bump and punching bag this time around.

That's just the beginning. Meet Magnus, the small statured gymnastic stallion, who overcomes all odds to become a father, and Festus, the bow-legged ostrich, who needs cosmetic surgery.

You'll learn about Spike, the silver crested cockatoo, who fights beak and nails to keep his gender a secret. The resulting melee reveals that one of the bleeding creatures in the room is a male.

What about the devoted Catholic dog deserving an official burial and the devastation to animals and people after a vicious tornado? The story of the elderly beauty pageant contestant testing her cursing talent for the Baptist preacher will tickle your funny bone and keep you in stitches.

Experience the trials, tribulations, and heartwarming stories of animals and their owners through the eyes of Dr. Skaggs. The tales will be ones you won't soon forget.
