"Father Mike Ortiz is now retired from the Army Chaplaincy and the active Priesthood. After several attempts to become a military chaplain he finally was accepted and volunteered for the Green Berets and served with the 1st, the 3rd, the 5th and the 10th Groups. He underwent SCUBA and HALO training and is a graduate of the Command & General Staff College as well as the War College. After retirement from the military he returned to "active duty" as a diocesan priest in San Diego. Father Mike is now retired and living in a retirement home.... enjoying life at '94."
