This book is a collection of poems, incantations, rituals, speculative prose, and conceptual experiments composed by K (Kristin) Prevallet between 2002-2024. Although formally diverse and written over many years, each contains a subtle reference to a flower, tree, or medicinal plant. Prevallet brings these plants to the foreground as a materia medica --a description of medicinal origins and properties which connect each plant to their signature poem. Author Biography

K (Kristin) Prevallet (born 1966) is a contemporary American writer living in Gloucester, MA. She is a scholar and practitioner of somatic arts who works across the mediums of language, performance, collage, video, soundscapes, and hospitality. K has published four collections of poetry, including I, Afterlife: Essay in Mourning Time and Everywhere Here and in Brooklyn: A Four Quartets; she is the archivist and editor of the complete ballads and songs of Helen Adam (A Helen Adam Reader); in addition, she has written two books which integrate poetics and the healing art of hypnosis.
