The Last Day: Readers Script - Paperback
Description
by Richard P. Zimmerman (Author)
This script contains the complete narrative of the last day of the life of Jesus, from just before the last supper up to the moment when the remaining friends of Jesus walked away from his tomb. The play was created from the text of a blended translation of all four Gospels. All quotations were simply converted into spoken parts for the characters in the play. A narrator's part utilizes the precise words from the Gospels to set the scene for the dialogue that takes place.
The play is designed to be presented as a Readers Theater performance, so no line memorization, costumes, or sets are required.
Separated into 2 Acts, the play may either be presented all at once, or in two separate performances. Act 1 covers the events of Maundy Thursday, from the Upper Room to the arrest in the garden. Act 2 moves to the trial, abuse, and crucifixion. With a little planning you will be able to perform either a 2 Act play on Maundy Thursday, or put on or 2 separate performances on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
See The Last Day: Directors Script for complete guidance on how to present the play in your church or community.
