Mirelle Ortega es narradora e ilustradora y autora de Magic: Once Upon a Faraway Land/ Magia. En una tierra muy lejana, por el cual recibió un reconocimiento de honor Pura Belpré como Ilustradora. Nació y creció cerca del río Papaloapan en Veracruz, México, y actualmente reside en Los Ángeles.
