The oracle cards in this book follow the design of a\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003etraditional tarot deck which uses a set of 22 cards (like a major arcana)\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e(3). However, my cards are designed using 22 original pieces of collage\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eart as shown in the pages of this book. This is a unique oracle deck: \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe front of each card in this deck is bespoke and distinct. Each card\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eis artwork crafted through processes of intuition, soul and in\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003econversation with the materials themselves.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhile the idea for my artwork, called a Currere Oracle deck, has\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eits roots in frameworks of arts-based inquiry, currere, and curriculum\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003etheory, the Currere Oracle cards are not just the stuff of scholars or\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eresearchers (see Mcdermott-McNulty, Barros, \u0026amp; Daspit, 2025).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eResearch is simply a high-dollar word for searching; and who. amongst\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eus does not search for meaning, for answers, for clarity, or for\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epossibility every single day? The cards invite anyone, from any\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ebackground to \"play\" with questions and possible answers afforded\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eby the oracle process. Its multiple entry points disrupt linear\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eunderstandings of what it means to ask a question and to seek an\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eanswer. Each card corresponds with, and can be interpreted\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eaccording to, the moment of the reading, the relationality or\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003epositionality of one card to another, and the interpretation of the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ereader.
