Luis H. Francia is the author A History of the Philippines: From Indios Bravos to Filipinos, an acclaimed and widely used text in college courses on Philippine history and postcolonial studies. Born in Manila, he moved to New York in the 1970s and has become a prominent voice in both Philippine and Asian American literature. Francia's work spans poetry, memoir, history, and drama.
